I want to make a video on cheerleading because I believe cheerleading is a sport while others do not.

This section will describe your topic and your reasons for choosing it. Tell the reader what you know (or did not know) and what you want to know. Why are you writing this paper? This section should answer the following questions: Why did you become interested in the topic you chose? What personal connection helped you to pick this topic? Describe the situation that led you to decide to research this topic.
I choose cheerleading to research the debatable topic of whether or not it should be considered a sport. I knew that cheerleading is dangerous and it is ranked higher than football and basketball. I also know that sideline cheerleading is not a sport because it is meant to be entertainment for the crowd. On the other hand competitive cheerleading should be considered a sport becasue a team is working together to lift other girls and not just dance and cheer to entertain people. Sports are defined as a physical actvitity where you throw a mass or overcome the resistance of a mass which is stunting. A sport is also defined as competing against an opponent which is competition. I think it should be considered a sport. I also want to learn exactly whether or not it is becasue they are many different answers out there. I am interested in this topic becasue I participate in cheerleading and want to finally gain respect and be considered as a sport. I am a cheerleader and I want to prove to other people that cheerleading is a sport. Also, us girls work as hard as any other sports team. I want to prove everyone wrong and show them we are just as good as them and are more than just entertainment.

I read an article that was from Asia. The article is about a cough syrup that killed sixteen people. It took place in the city of Lahore and authorities say that the syrup was toxic. The pharmacy that owned the cough syrup was shut down and the owners were taken away. The deaths took place both sunday and saturday, but the people who died were mostly drug addicts trying to use the syrup to get high opposed to sick people actually using it for its purpose. Some of the dead people were found in the graveyard which is where most addicts go to take numerous types of drugs. The provinicial health authority took away all the stocks of syrup from several pharmacies in the area. Media found out the syrup was not past its expirary date so they were toxic on purpose. Also earlier this year in January more than 100 people died while taking contaminated heart medicine in the same city. The deaths were connnected to faulty drugs that were given to patients in a goverment hospital. The chief minister ordered a report had to be given to him within 72 hours. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-20491707

I read an article about the oldest US woman alive. Her name was Besse Cooper and lived to be 116 years old. She died peacefully in a nursing home in Georgia. She was born in Tennessee, but moved to Georgia during WWI to look for a job as a teacher. She had a stomach illness and breathing problems. She was given oxygen, but still died shortly after. They could tell it was her time to go. She was certified as the oldest person alive in the Guiness Book of World Records in January of 2011. The following May, Guinness Book of World Records found a Brazilian woman who was 48 days older but died the following month. Her funeral will be held sometime this week her son, Sidney Cooper said. Guinness said Cooper is succeeding as the world's oldest living person. The oldest non US citizen to live was French born Jeanne Calment who lived to be 122 years old. She died in the year 1997, but Cooper still is the oldest living person for the United States. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20604191

The advice that affected me the most was the one about how there is life beyond high school. We all think if we don't do good it is the end of the world, but this person said the occasional D isn't going to ruin your life. We just have to try and do our best and hopefully we will succeed. The person also said, "take time to have friends and fun... don't stress over school work." This statement is so true becasue when you get stressed over school work and needing time to finish all the overwhelming amounts of it, you start to get anxiety which makes you hate school. We need to take a break from it once in a while and have fun. I find myself now spending less time with friends becuse my life is taken up with hours of homework. The person also said don't stress over high school drama becasue honestly it will not matter years from now. We need to focus on being happy and not getting depressed over high school drama. It's just immature people causing it becasue they have nothing better to do. We need to prepare ourselves for high school and Morgan is doing it very well by challenging us for the years to come. We need to get scholarships so we better to good now so we get accepted in the college we like.
