I am reading the book "Smileyface." So far, it's basically about a boy who's in love with this girl who just wants to be friends with him. His home life is tough and he's kind of a nerd. The quote that I chose from the book is "Clearly you want a divorce, so that's what we'll do." (Smileyface's mother said this to him father.) This quote kind of hits home for me because divorce and separation between my parents was a big deal for me while I was growing up. They got divorced when I was two so I obviously don't remember really how it happened. But I know the feeling of pain when they are divorced and constantly fighting which is what Smileyface is going through. The pain is the worst when you're not allowed to see one of them because of drinking or drugging and Smileyface's father is a heavy drinker now that his parents are divorced. I feel bad for Smileyface.

I am interested in this topic because friendship is a very important and valuable thing in my life. I know a lot about it because I have delt with very different types of people. Some of those people were very different than me and it was harder to get along with them. Others, we're also different than me but they had different ways of living than did. Marykate and I are perfectly for eachother to be best friends. We do absolutely everything together and we are exactly alike. A personal connection that helped me pick this topic was my bestfriend and I'm always with her and she's one of the most important people in my life. I would do absolutely anything for her. A lot of people do not realize that. Also, the situation that led me to this was just that I thought it would be a good idea to let everything know in a video how much my bestfriend means to me and just how close we are.

In this article, it talks about how Carlos Tevez got his license taken away. He was speeding and he did not give the police his information that was needed.I think that was wrong of him but wouldn't he not be in so much trouble if he had just given the police his information? It would have been a lot easier. But since he didn't, he is getting his license taken awa at some point in Decemeber. To add on to all of the trouble that he has already caused for himself, he missed his court date. Missing his court date is the main reason why he is getting his license taken away. If I were him, I would've done everything I was supposed to. That would be giving the police my information, and going to the court date. I hope I never have to get my license taken away.
Marijuana Legalized in Washington
In this article, it talks about marijuana being legalized in Washington. I think that they should legalize marijuana everywhere. No, I am not a pothead but I have researched all of the facts about marijuana. A lot of people think that marijuana is unsaf. It is not. If marijuana was unsafe, I do not think that they would useit to help cure sicknesses. Cigarrettes are a lot worse than marijuana. Cigarrettes give you lung cancer and there are other ways you could die from cigarrettes. Marijuana has not hurt a soul. Nor will it ever. I think it is great that marijuana is finally legalized in a couple states. But I am happy that you are not allowed to smoke it in public because thatcould be a bad influence to younger children to start smoking if they see someone smoking on the side of the road.
I like the second piece of advice. It helps me because I always stress about school but even though I get stressed, I seem to always have time for my friends and to have fun. I like when the person said "The occasional D on a test or paper isn't gonna ruin your life. Do your best and that's all that matters." I really liked that because when I get a D on something, I care about it but I don't let it ruin my day because I know that I can get my grade up if I try to and if I really want it.
